Dr. Dean Arkfeld attended Creighton University for his undergraduate degree, University of Nebraska Medical Center for medical school and Yale University School of Medicine for his residency in ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary to become a retina sub-specialist.
Dr. Arkfeld is a fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Nebraska Medical Association and Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dedicated to community service, Dr. Arkfeld has volunteered for several organizations. He has served on the board of directors for the Radio Talking Book Network of Omaha, the Rose Theater, the Nebraska Foundation for Visually Impaired Children, and Countryside Community Church.
Dr. Arkfeld shares his life adventures with his spouse Peggy Reinecke. They have three married children and their grandchildren. He enjoys yoga, gardening, and cooking. He is as passionate about the arts as he is about eye care.
